Abstract
Well-designed interventions for prevention, protection, response & rehabilitation can help India reach the ideal of a comprehensive protective environment for children. India’s ability to realise and help children reach their full potential is dependent on the nation’s ability to fulfil its commitments to children. The Constitution of India recognises the inherent vulnerabilities in children through Article 39-F.
The Article mandates the state to ensure that “children are given opportunities and facilities to develop in a healthy manner and in conditions of freedom and dignity and that childhood and youth are protected against exploitation and against moral and material abandonment.”
